The National Council of Women (NCW) of Taiwan, Republic of China was founded with great pride and loyalty fully committed to its mission to strive for universal peace and harmony through the unity of women worldwide.
Established in 1990 with six local well known and active international women service organizations, NCW is honored to be a member of the world outstanding service organizations such as International Council of Women (ICW), General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), Federation of Asia-Pacific Women’s Associations (FAWA) and others, all of which are firm and constructive participants dedicated to serving humankind.
We are so proud and privileged to have hosted the ICW Executive Committee Meeting in Taipei, Taiwan in ROC in November of 2016 during which 327 members representing 44 countries attended the successful and eventful conference. ROC President Tsai Yin Wen attended the opening ceremony reaffirming her commitment and our nation’s determination to bring equality and significance to women issues and agenda in our society’s mentality and policymaking. The NCW of Taiwan, ROC was especially gratified to have welcomed so many international women leaders from many parts of the world to Taiwan showing them our beautiful island and our friendly, generous people. We have all gained many new friendships from this interaction.
On the auspicious occasion of NCW’s General Assembly 2017, I wish to extend my best wishes to the organization as we join hands to fulfill our pledge to serve society and our nation with dedication and devotion.
With my warm regards,
